Organizing and cleaning up has been my jam lately….
So this pantry of mine has become a sort of catch-all for waaay to much junk food lately! I hate a cluttered look, and I am so excited to have finally tackled this closet! It was too easy to give into my cravings while I was pregnant, so organizing this pantry helped me also clean up some of the extra junk I didn’t need in there as well!
It can be really easy to forget that the stuff in the pantry expires too…So when going through all of this I was happy to also toss out some expired foods! Ahh! Gross! With a couple purchases from Amazon, I was able to whip this little room into shape in no time.
OK. So there is still an incredibly large basket of candy there…but I really did get rid of a ton of junk food. I swear! Plus every good aunt knows that having a stash of candy for the nieces and nephews when they visit is very important! Tee Hee!
Anyhoo, here is what I did to get the pantry organized
First I literally opened up two huge garbage bags and went to town just throwing away junk food and expired stuff. But I really did fill two whole bags with old nasty stuff. It felt amazing to get rid of that clutter! Then I went through the snacks and treats I had left over and put them into organized bins so I could clearly see what I had. I put opened boxes of crackers, and snacks into these plastic Tupperware so that I knew these were the already opened treats and should be eaten first!
I put wrapped snacks and treats into these baskets according to category (candy, bars, bagged snacks…etc). And then cooking ingredients, pasta noodles, rice…etc got organized into these metal stackable baskets. These are also great for produce!! Cans and jar foods were placed on these metal racks, how cool are these?! And finally I got these plastic Tupperware for housing baking ingredients like flour and sugar. All of these supplies arrived in just a few days off Amazon which was amazing because I could get this project done right away and more affordably too! Spring cleaning done!
