I knew it would happen but I did not realize how quickly it would happen! I was warned by other mothers and here it happened to me before I even knew what was going on! Our home had become run over with toys, dolls, and all sorts of baby chairs, swings, and walkers, and our once always clean and organized living area was now in full control of my 1 year old daughter!

In all honesty I do not mind having my daughters toys around, and I love that our home has become a family home, it really does make my heart swell to see my children’s things because it reminds me of the beauty and love our family is! BUT it only goes so far until there is barely any room to walk because there are so many toys everywhere, and finally something had to give!

We had an extra room upstairs that we were using as a gym/whatever room, and one day I decided that we were going to turn this space into a full blown playroom! A dedicated space that would be cute and special and just for my girls. A place that could hold all the toys, keep them organized, and make it fun for the girls to enjoy over and over again. I became very excited about this project and it wasn’t long before I got to work on it. I have been sharing the process on my Instagram stories and taking you all along the way. Today I am finally revealing the finished product and I am so eager to so! I will be sharing how I did it, what I purchased and why, and how I made it special!

I knew somewhere either in or near the playroom, I wanted to do a gallery wall. It is something I had wanted to do for a very long time, and I knew it would be a really good way of staying on top of displaying pictures of the girls. I can switch out the pictures seasonally, and continually add or update the theme for holidays, occasions…etc. The hallway wall outside the playroom was the perfect place since it was so bare and I loved the idea of looking at the photos on the way to the playroom. So cute! I used these frames and these wall flower decorations to make the gallery wall. The woven trunk we picked up from a garage sale years ago and I am using it to store blankets and on top of that is the cutest personalized stack of books from this shop that has each of the girls names and birthdates! How precious?!

Since I have two girls, I knew I wanted the playroom to be girly. And girly it is! We already had this tent and since it was pink it was the base for the theme of the whole playroom which ended up being very pink! This rug is my favorite piece in the entire room and it actually used to be in my office! I own a few rugs from this brand and have them all throughout our home. I love the distressed look! They are incredible quality too and very affordable!

This toy organizer is amazing and comes in a bunch of different color combinations so it can be made to match any playroom theme. It was really easy to put together and I actually built the whole thing myself in under 15 minutes! I love the ease of take-out-and-play and clean up, and it still looks clean even though you can see everything! It is very affordable, great quality, and holds A LOT of toys. We have room to add more and that makes me very happy! I also love that I can easily buy another and simply set it next to this one if we need to in the future.

How cute is this little reading corner? I knew from day one that I wanted to have a sweet little corner dedicated specifically to reading. I had an idea in mind for the type of book shelves that I wanted but when I went to get them they ended up being sold out. So, I had every intention of ordering them instead but then I saw these and I thought they were super cute and just different, and I liked that they were also pink! I LOVE how they turned out! I think it looks really cute and clean and the fact that it can be used for something else later on made the whole idea even more appealing.

The toy box was a must have, and I was excited about this one because it was available in pink. I have to say that I really like this toy box for the price, size, and color, but it is not of the highest quality. It is definitely a project for two people, even though I did do it myself and it can be done, but it was hard. Both of the slow close safety hinges (another feature I liked to avoid fingers from being smashed when the lid closed) pulled out of the lid the first time I opened it and I had to re-screw them into the lid with better screws. This table and chair set, however, is from the same brand and I absolutely love them! The table has a center net to catch crayons or whatever you like, and it it the perfect size for kids up to 5 years old! It was so easy to build and has proven to be incredible quality! Plus, again, it was available in pink!

All the other details and pieces I am adding in the widget below! I love how it turned out and I am excited to add to it as the years pass and as my girls grow older. We already use the playroom daily and the bright pink colors make it such a cheerful room to play in!
