Best of Beauty 2018

“It’s the Little Things In Life”… And you know that starts with feeling good! I am SO excited to share todays post with you all! If you have been following me for a while, you know that I try to get at least two beauty posts a month. I like to give you all updates on my beauty and skin care routines, reviews on new products I am trying, and different tips, tricks, and tutorials! Today I am sharing my top favorite beauty products (hair included) of 2018!

Below I am sharing my best of beauty products in each category and what it is about them that makes them so great. These are the products that have become my everyday favorites and all things that I have either repurchased several times or plan to repurchase again soon to use throughout 2019! For those of you who have been devote readers for a while may see some repeat products listed here, that is because they are truly that good and I use them so much I still have not found a comparative replacement! SO.. Lets gets started!

Beauty

IT Cosmetics CC+ w/SPF (Shade light)

This has been my top, all time best foundation for years, and I just cannot find anything that does a better job. Even though this is not an actual full coverage foundation, it covers imperfections and leaves a smooth and beautiful base. My skin tends to have redness issues and this covers any of that too! PLUS it feels light and moisturizing on the skin! IT Cosmetics also has a CC+ Illumination Cream and a CC+ Cream Oil Free Matte version. I have tried the CC+ Illumination and still prefer the original best. I have yet to try the CC+ Cream Oil Free Matte, but I may give it a go this year since oil free is always something I am looking for!

Lancome Effacerness Waterproof Protective Undereye Concealer (Shade porcelaine)

I tried A LOT of new concealers throughout last year, and none of them even came close to my tried and true Lancome Effacerness Concealer. This stuff is like liquid gold, I am telling you it really is SO GOOD! As a mom of two who is sleep deprived and constantly fighting dark circles, I can tell you this stuff is the best. It is a natural full coverage concealer that eliminates dark circles and fine lines, and most of all it does not crease!

Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Setting Powder (Shade fair)

I will be honest and tell you I am completely out of this, and I need to repurchase ASAP! This setting powder is a little bit expensive but SO GOOD. I am a huge Charlotte Tilbury fan and never had an item from her line I didn’t like. I use this setting powder over my undereye concealer and it is the magic that makes sure it stay bright and smooth all day long. Also I like to use this all over my face as a finishing powder (and especially on picture days) because it makes my entire look more matte and natural.

NARS Palettes (NARSissist Cheek Studio & NARSissist Dual Intensity Cheek)

OK so the palette I have been using everyday lately is the Nars Orgasm Infatuation Palette but unfortunately that was a limited edition holiday palette that is no longer being sold. HOWEVER the reason I am listing it here is because after using this palette I discovered that I truly love NARS for cheeks products and their bronzers, blush, and highlighters are SO beautiful and flawless! I have tried and plan to purchase either of the NARSissist Cheek Studio or NARSissist Dual Intensity Cheek palettes for the same quality products.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz (Shade Dark Brown)

I talk about this brow pencil in pretty much every single beauty post I do. I know I sound like a broken record, and I am sorry! But this is just the best brow pencil there is, and I absolutely believe that! I have been using the Anastasia brow wiz for so many years, tried every other brand out there, and always come back to it. Brows are important to me! I have very sparse and very blonde eyebrows and having a quality brow product that I can count on to give me perfect natural looking brows that stand out is SO important! This is it!

**Along with brows, eyelashes are a big deal for my too. I like to have my eyes pop because having blonde eyebrows and lashes can make my eyes look small. I want them to look big and beautiful! For the longest time I was getting lash extensions and I still love them, but with two little girls it just has not been practical for me to take the time to keep up with getting them done. Since then I have been trying other ways to get the same affect at home on my own! I have been using THESE magnetic lashes for special occasions. But for everyday I invested in two key beauty products that make my lashes look longer, fuller, and obviously darker, and I am so happy with how they turn out!**

Lancome CLIS Booster XL Vitamin Infused-Mascara Primer

This primer is the first of the two products I now use on my lashes to get the finished look I dream of. This stuff is amazing! Not only does it condition and protect my lashes, but it actually adds length and volume when used underneath mascara! I noticed a difference right away and love it!

Hourglass Caution Extreme Lash Mascara

This is the best mascara I have found for bold lashes. As I mentioned above my natural lashes are less then dramatic, as well as they are very short! This mascara adds volume AND length to my lashes and actually makes them look more extreme. The brush is a combination of two styles so it is amazing at reaching every single lash and coating it fully. I usually put on two or three coats of this stuff and I am ready for the day!

Soft Lips Chapstick | Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick (Shade Pillow Talk)| Laneige Sleeping Lip Mask

This is the combo I use for my lips 99% of the time. I love the Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick in Pillow Talk because it is the perfect nude color, and it truly looks good on everyone! Such a good everyday basic! I usually start with Soft Lips Chapstick to lay a base of moisture on my lips, and then put on the lipstick over that. I top it all off with my *swear by it* “gloss” the Laneige lip mask! This stuff is incredible and has lasted my almost two full years! I wear it at night when my lips are extra dry too (literally will wake up with baby soft lips every single time), but I love it during the day because it give my lips that needed moisture but also leave the perfect shine! Love it!

Herbivore Botanicals Rose Quartz Facial Roller

I recently did an entire post on the benefits of using a skin roller HERE. This is probably my favorite item in this whole list of beauty products! Oh I have been such a convert to using this, and still can not believe how much I love it! I use my skin roller every night after washing off my makeup, and every morning following my skin care routine. I keep it in the freezer and LOVE the coolness on my skin, plus it help with the morning bags under my eyes!

Hair

Pravana The Perfect Blonde Purple Toning Masque

Because I have blond hair and I like to keep it that way, I like to use a purple tonging masque once a week to keep the brassiness out of my hair. I found this on Amazon and really love how well it works! It is super affordable and great quality! It is gentle and rinses out leaving my hair super soft and smelling amazing. This was the biggest selling factor for me since other purple masques and shampoo have left my hair course and straw like. This works like a charm and leaves my hair bright and light every single time!

Drybar Detox Dry Shampoo

This last year I finally worked on washing my hair less often because I knew that washing your hair every single day is not healthy. I have always struggled with greasy hair and I HATED going even one day without washing, and I never thought I could do it. Since I discovered dry shampoo, however, it suddenly became a possibility! I can now go a whole week without washing my hair if I want! (Usually I don’t go more then 4 days) I have tried a TON of different dry shampoos, and always come back to this one. Drybar Detox Dry Shampoo takes very little product to do the trick, smells amazing, and actually adds volume to my hair as well which I love! I often spray some into my roots at night, massage it in, and let it sit as I sleep overnight. Then I wake up in the morning with fresh, voluminous hair!

Oribe Swept-Up Volume Powder Spray

OK this product is the newest one I have been in love with, but I have heard hype about it for years! If you want volume, this is the best thing you can purchase hands down! This stuff is SO GOOD and SO EASY to use! I had seen it used on many other bloggers and youtubers and was blown away watching how quickly it adds volume and how much volume it gives. Fast forward to purchasing my own bottle and I am even more impressed with the results in person! I am telling you, one spray and quick rub and BOOM big hair is back! If you don’t add any other product in this list to your own collection, add this one! I can confidently say you won’t be disappointed!

Alright! There you have it! I hope this has been beneficial and informative, and I would love to hear what your favorite beauty products of 2018 have been and why! I am always on the hunt for something new and amazing! And I will continue to update the blog with new products I am using each month, and can’t wait to see what I find this year!
