Let me just start by saying, this was one of the best days we had this year so far! How cute are these girls?! One of my good mommy blogger friends Casey of Collectively Casey (@caseyeanderson) and I have had the opportunity to connect and get together a bunch, and it has been so fun growing a friendship with her and her little darling girls! Aria gets along with them so well, and it is so much fun watching them all play together!

Mini Boho Boutique sent us over these beautiful dresses and romper for little Ella, and we were instantly inspired to throw an extravagant tea party for our girls featuring these pieces! These along with many more designs that will be popping up all over our feeds too, so keep an eye out if you like what you see! (@lydialouiseblog).

Since it was SO much fun and just too adorable not to share, Casey and I decided to go ahead and give our top tips to throwing the best bohemian toddler tea party ever! (And affordably!) You can check out Casey’s post HERE and see more photos!

Lydia’s Tips:

Create Hype and Expectancy // Toddlers can have quite short attention spans, but getting them excited for an upcoming event can make it all that more memorable and special for them. I spent the whole afternoon the day before, reading Aria books about tea parties, and just throughout the day pretending we were having tea or talking about pretty tea parties so she would have her own idea of what to expect.

Go All Out // We decided that if we were going to throw this amazing tea party, then by all means lets throw a tea party for the books! We spent an afternoon planning and putting together details of how we wanted the whole event to play out. We picked out the decor, the treats, and made it fun and whimsical! I will admit I may have had just as much fun as these girls did just watching them enjoy it all!

Get Them Dolled Up // If you are going to go all out with a top notch tea party, then you better dress up for it right? Again I have to mention Mini Boho Boutique as a go to for all things pretty, for little girls and more. We were over the moon when we received these dresses and blown away by the detail and quality for the price!

Be Involved // As much as toddlers can have a great time all on their own, there is nothing wrong with the mama’s getting in on the fun too! We jumped up and down, twirled and sung with the girls, made sure they were content, and I truly believe it was an even more magical day because of it!

Let Them Take Their Time // I was thoroughly surprised at how much time the girls to enjoy this tea party! Honestly I kind of expected the girls to get distracted and run off as soon as they had their fill of treats. Instead they actually interacted and took their time and enjoyed smiling and making faces at little Ella! Regardless of the messy faces and crumbs everywhere, we just let them have all the time they needed and it was amazing to witness!

Casey’s Tips:

Shop your home // Look around your house for things you already own that have a bohemian vibe. Macrame, neutral colors, floral, lace, sparkles, ruffles, etc.!

Layers // To really create that boho feel, layer different textures and materials. Stack cake stands on top of each other, layer rugs and tablecloths, and string multiple strands of lights that cross each other!

Comfy Seating // Add lots of soft and comfy places for seating! Floor pillows and mats, cushioned chairs, and soft rugs give restless toddlers multiple options for sitting and enjoying their party.

Easy Food // We went with muffins, small cookies, berries, and juice in the tea pot! Easy to eat and fan favorites among the girls.

I hope this inspired you and gave you some ideas for your own magical tea party! We plan to do many more fun events like this all season long so stay tuned for more!
