Once again, wedding season is almost here, which means that it’s time to start preparing. Weddings are always the most amazing occasions packed full of love and laughter. But there’s a lot of preparation that goes into preparing for them. Even for the wedding guests!

Primping and preening is a key part of wedding preparation beauty, isn’t it? As women, we like to look our bests, because when we know that we look good, we feel good, which is incredibly important for our self-esteem. Did you know that the average female wedding guest takes 4.5 hours to get ready for a wedding? That’s a lot of time spent on beautifying yourself!

Want to cut the time that it takes to be wedding-ready? There is a simple answer that is also a highly effective one – and that’s to prepare in advance. Believe it or not, there are a range of steps that you can take to prepare for the entire wedding season in advance. Wondering what these game-changing steps could be? Below is a guide to everything that you should know about properly preparing for wedding season.

Get a spray tan

There’s nothing worse than looking pasty in the photos. Which is why us girls always like to pop on some fake tan and give our skin that sun-kissed summer glow. Of course, there’s a lot more to fake tanning than slapping some fake tan on; you need to exfoliate, carefully apply the tan, and then not move until it dries or you can shower and wash it off. Applying fake tan at home is exhausting.

The good news is that there’s another option: spray tanning. Want to ensure that you don’t have to spend hours using fake tan the night before or the day of a wedding? The answer is to get a spray tan at a professional tanning salon. While you could opt to use sun beds, various studies have shown that even ‘safe’ use can increase your risk of skin cancer, making using them not even worth considering.

The great thing about a spray tan is that if you choose the right color it can look completely natural. One spray tan won’t last for the entire wedding season. But what you can do is get it topped up on a regular basis. Thus ensuring that your glowy summer skin remains all summer long.

Have your nails professionally done

Remove the stress and worry of having to paint your nails as you are getting ready for a wedding. Instead of leaving it until the last minute to do your nails, opt to have them done professionally. Perhaps you could look into your local nail salon once every two weeks to have your nails done. Whether you opt for acrylic nails, gels or a traditional manicure, it doesn’t matter, all that matters is that you get your nails done in advance to relieve the pressure.

If you have your nails professionally done, you can rest assured that the look you go for will last for at least two weeks. By having your nails done in advance, you don’t need to stress about nail painting and allowing your nails time to dry. You can simply get ready without having to worry about this aspect of pre-wedding priming.

Not able to get your nails professionally done? Then perhaps your best bet would be to go for ‘stick-on’ nails. There are some fantastic nail designs out there that are ideal for weddings, easy to apply, and look totally natural. Avoid fake nails that require glue and instead opt for nails that are ready to stick on.

Get your teeth whitened

Photos are a big part of any wedding, which is why looking your best is so important. If you would usually attempt to whiten your teeth at home, using DIY teeth whitening products or natural options like activated charcoal, it could be worth looking into cosmetic dentistry and professional teeth whitening. While getting your teeth whitened by the experts can be expensive, it’s important to consider the fact that this type of whitening is highly effective and tends to last for years, making it a worthwhile investment to make.

Going DIY with your teeth whitening process might seem like a good idea. But you have to consider how safe and effective these products and remedies are. It’s far better to invest in your teeth and have them whitened professionally in a safe and effective way.

Fix your hair

Women spend hours straightening and curling our hair each wedding season. What if you didn’t have to waste all of this time fixing your hair? If you want to make wedding season easier to cope with, it is far easier to have your hair ‘fixed’ permanently, rather than having to style it in the morning before a wedding.

If you like to wear your hair straight, then perhaps having a Brazilian blow dry could be the answer? This chemical straightening process breaks down the bonds of the hair and straightens it. This means you are guaranteed poker straight hair for at least three months – AKA the length of wedding season. Do you prefer to wear your hair curly but aren’t blessed with natural curls? If this is the case then maybe you could consider having a perm done to give your hair that curl you would love it to have?

Both of these treatments are expensive to have done. But they mean that your hair will be simple to style for each wedding!

There you have it, a guide to priming and preening and making wedding season that little bit easier and less stressful.
