toddler in a bow

DISCLOSURE: This post is NOT sponsored and 100% my personal opinion being expressed because I genuinely love this person and her work!

“BOW!” One of Aria’s favorite words and I will take full blame for that! Each morning we pick out her bow and when it is perfectly in place she has to run down to show it off to daddy…who better notice it mind you. When Aria was about 3 months old I took her out with me on a Target run fully dressed to the nines in a cute pink romper! The first compliment I heard was from a sweet old gentleman who said “What a cute little boy you have!”. Granted I still had my postpartum hormone imbalance pumping through my veins… but my immediate reaction was total and instant irritability. Um, hello?! She is wearing pink! A beautiful pink romper that I carefully picked out to show off my sweet baby girl on our very first Target trip together! I was appalled and just could not believe it. I replied in a very short tone, “She is a GIRL.”.

Of course the sweet old man apologized profusely, but after venting to my husband all about the tragedy, he quickly brought me to my senses that it can be hard to determine the sex of a baby when they are that little and bald… Pink or not! That made sense, I supposed, so I made the decision right then and there that my daughter (and soon daughters) would ALWAYS wear a bow whenever we went out so there would be no mistaking ever again.

Enter the best small shop to ever grace my life. Erin has been a good friend of mine for a few months now, and I continue to love her AND her amazing bows more and more each day. Erin who is the miracle worker behind @desert.and.cotton (https://www.etsy.com/shop/desertandcotton) is extremely talented and my girls rarely wear any other bow from anywhere else. She hand crafts each and every bow herself and she is a mother of two darling children! I have personally witnessed how much heart she puts into her work. She has a knack for spotting style, print, and style that are instant must-haves and her customers are hard core fans. All of which impatiently await ever new drop to fight over who gets to purchase them all up before she runs out.

Erin actually thrift shops and repurposes treasure found fabric to create style that cannot be replicated. I love how much time and effort she puts into finding the right color, print, and yes even feeling a particular bow will give to its purchaser.

I could go on and on, but you can see for yourself by skipping on over to her Etsy shop HERE and in advance… Your welcome!
